Short answer
For Tooling & Mold core pin & ejector in corrosive or outdoor use, 316/316L stainless plus a proper finish is the baseline. LusterControl machines 304, 316, 303, 440C and 630 (17-4PH), and we electropolish in-house to Ra 0.6 μm (standard), up to 8K mirror Ra 0.2 μm — a smoother surface resists pitting. We can support salt-spray validation with material certs and finish records.
What to request
- The right grade for the environment (316L for chloride).
- Electropolish or passivation spec on the print.
- A salt-spray test plan agreed before production.
